Author: C.S. Yelle

Publication date: March 26th 2013

Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult

Britt Anderson went along with everything the doctors said for nearly four years, but she was still dying at eighteen. The cancer had won leaving her without a future, without any options, and without control. No control, except for how she would leave this world. As Britt tries to end her life by going into the frigid waters she realizes her mistake. She struggles to get back to shore, to cry out for help, but her atrophied muscles are useless and the frigid water steals the breath from her chemo-scarred lungs. Despite her father’s attempts to reach her, she flies over the waterfall.

When Allister Parks finds Britt’s fragile body on the riverbank something calls out to him. Ignoring the warnings of his sister, Allister brings Britt back from the edge of death. The only problem is that an Eternal like Allister isn’t allowed to touch those who have already passed from this world. It is forbidden; an infraction punishable by death.

As Britt relishes her new cancer-free life and senior year of high school, her very existence threatens Allister’s place in this world. Allister struggles to keep Britt a secret from the Eternal Council and out of the hands of the only Eternal who already knows the truth: the one who stole her guardian angel.

“How many books are going to be in the series?”

I write series. There I said it. I am proclaiming it to the world for all to hear…err, read. I begin a story and it inevitably turns into a series.

You might say, just cut it down, end the story, and it may be that simple for some, but not for me. I will be honest with you. I tried to write a short story once. Once. And now that storyline has book 3 sitting at my publishers on its way to be released.

“Three isn’t all that bad,” you say. “A trilogy is a nice.”

And it would be. A trilogy would be a nice neat concise telling of a storyline, but I’m not done. The story isn’t done. Book 4 is inevitable and became apparent halfway book 3, but there is no counting out a book 5 or even a book 6 in the future.

That is the problem when people ask me to give them a finite number of books a series will take to tell my story. I have no idea.

I learned a new term and will use it here since I discovered this is what I am. I’m a “panster”. This term baffled me until I googled it to find out that writers fall into two broad categories when it comes to their books plots. “Plotters” where the writer plots out the storyline from start to finish and the “pansters” where the rider sits down and writes by the seat of their pants, taking the story as it comes.

Well, being a panster, the story is very vague when I sit down and I open up my mind and let it go. It usually takes off in a rush and leaves me typing as fast as my fingers can fly across the keyboard, woefully inept to keep up with my racing thoughts, but I write as the story comes to me.

“Okay,” you may say, but that is with that storyline, how about with Taking Angels? How many books are in The Angel Crusades series?

I can confidently look all of you in the eye and say this series will most definitely contain three books…or maybe four…possibly five…or was it six?
