The Resistance follows young Carter Lancaster as he leaves his home to fight in the war that started because of his birth. After meeting other creatures that are part of the Super Races (along with other Snagas like himself), Carter learns that in war, tough decisions must be made. Lives will be lost, but freedom could be gained. Is it worth it.
What are the main themes of your book?
War, magic, fantasy creatures, alternate dimensions and a tiny bit of romance put together the main themes of The Resistance: Carter.
Who or what inspired your story?
A few books (Harry Potter, Eragon, etc.) and a TV show (Avatar: The Last Airbender) inspired my series, The Resistance.
What do you like best about your primary characters?
What I like best about my three primary characters is that even though they train for years in every aspect of war, they will still make mistakes, like real people.
What are their worst peculiarities?
There are only four of their kind in existence. More than that though, they are teenagers with the fate of their lives in their own hands (except people are trying to kill them).
How does your main character evolve?
Carter Lancaster was a shy boy who had never even met his father, but after all he goes through he becomes a strong, outspoken young man.
What’s the principal message you want to send to your audience?
Be yourself. Carter spent fifteen years of his life pretending to be a human when he knew that he wasn’t.
What’s the nicest thing anyone has said about your book?
It was a from two women I met in a Books A Million in Longview, Texas. I showed the cashier my book and she held it in her hands and started glancing from my book to me, clearly confused. I got nervous and said that I wrote it and she literally dropped the book on the counter. She called the manager of the store over and said: “Come over here and look what this boy has done!” By then I was totally freaking out, wondering if I’d done something wrong. The manager came over and looked at the book and the cashier said “He wrote this book!” The manager freaked out and the three of us stood there for a good twenty minutes talking about my book, how old I was, when I’d be finishing the second in the series, and a lot more. Finally (after talking about how to get my book into all Books A Million stores) they wished me good luck, got my name and a picture with me, I left with high hopes.
Where can we purchase it?

About the Author
My name is Tristen Evans. I’m a sixteen year old writer/author from east Texas. I live on a ranch with cows, horses, pigs and dogs, however I’ve always been drawn to writing. I started what was to become “The Resistance” in seventh grade (thirteen years old) and finished it when I was in ninth grade (fifteen years old). Now (sixteen years old), by book is available on online retailers and a few retail stores. In two months I’ve sold over twenty copies of the first book in my debut series.
