Title: Waiting For Prince Harry by Aven Ellis
Publication date: April 2nd 2014
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Twenty-four-year-old Kylie Reed has always been a rule follower. Organized and cautious to a fault, her dreams for life are often filed away for future use—when she has a house, when she meets her future husband, when she has been at her visual display job at a chic Dallas boutique longer…Kylie always has a reason for living her life in the future, not in the present, and not living her life to the fullest and reaching her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
The only exception to rules, of course, would be running away with Prince Harry—Kylie’s ideal man. A hot, fun ginger boy would be worth breaking all the rules for, of course. And Kylie is sure Harry just needs the right, centering woman to settle him down. But living in Dallas and not knowing Prince Harry make this a non-option.
Or does it?
Because when Kylie accidentally falls into the lap of a gorgeous ginger boy—yes, even more gorgeous than the real Prince Harry—all bets are off. Could this stranger be the one to show Kylie how to take a chance, to face her fears, and live in the present? And could this stranger be the Prince Harry she has been waiting for? Kylie’s life takes some unexpected twists and turns thanks to this chance encounter, and she knows her life will never be the same because of it…

A Writing Day with Aven Ellis
I’m going to talk about what my Saturdays are like because that is my writing day! Yay!
I work full-time for a sports television network during the week, so my writing time is very limited. Saturdays are my days to get a bulk of my writing done. So I get up early on Saturday morning and take my daughter to her tennis lesson. Here is where I start thinking about what I’m going to write that day. So while she is learning how to serve, I’m thinking about what the heroine is going to think when…wait, I can’t tell you that. I’m giving away something from my current work-in-progress! (Author zips lips here.)
So after tennis, we come home and little one goes off with her father because now it’s time for me to do what I love to do–write!
I start by getting my favorite mug–my Dean & Deluca mug, which I even slipped into a scene in my first book, Connectivity— and fill it with coffee and flavored creamer. (Let me digress for a moment–one of life’s little joys to me is flavored creamer. I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am when I have a mug of coffee flavored with vanilla creamer in it.) Anyway, I take my mug to the office and shut the door. No distractions!
Next I open the blinds so my cats can look outside while I write. They are my writing buddies, and they are the only ones allowed to be in the office during writing time. Next, I gather up any notes/research articles I’ve printed and put those beside me. I also pull up my Spotify account and go to the soundtrack for my WIP. I have to write to music. It sets the scene for me. And yes, I will hit replay a thousand times on a song if it takes me the whole time to write that particular scene, LOL.
So I have my coffee, my cats, my notes, my music–now it’s time to WRITE. Sometimes everything clicks and it just flows right out. Other days I stare at a blinking cursor. Sometimes I’m laughing out loud at something I’ve written. Other times the words are not there and I have to write stuff that I know will be revised later.
But either way, it’s all good because writing is what brings me joy. I truly love it, passionately so, and I can’t wait for each Saturday to roll around so I can spend time with my characters and their story.

About the Author
Aven Ellis has been writing fiction since she was sixteen. She studied communications at a large Midwestern university, and after graduation, Aven worked as a reporter for a community newspaper, followed by a stint at a public relations agency.
But writing about city council meetings and restaurant franchises was not as much fun as writing for young women trying to figure out their careers and potential boyfriends. So Aven got herself a job in television that allowed her to write at night. Connectivity is Aven’s debut novel; Waiting For Prince Harry and Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista (New Adult romantic comedy) will be published next year.
Aven lives in Dallas with her family. When she is not writing, Aven enjoys shopping, cooking, connecting with friends on social media, and watching any show that features Gordon Ramsay.

Thanks for being on the tour! 🙂 And Aven’s morning looks like mine – cats and all (though I just have the one)! 🙂
Hi Giselle, lovely to have you join us! I know what you mean about the cats, mine love to sit on my lap and distract me all day.
I’m playing with the idea of writing a romance novel about someone something like Kylie, except that she is even more practical, 73 years old, and happily married. So how can she have an interesting romance? Well, she meets this elf in her dreams. . .
I want to see if I can write an interesting romance novel about two mature people who are not infatuated and don’t keep secrets from each other or misunderstand each other. . . much.
Now that sounds like a great idea, Eleanor. Let us know how it goes.
Thank you so much for having me today! Nice to know I’m not the only “woman with cats in the office” person out there! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by, Aven. Seems like cats are a prerequisite for us writers! 😉
